Alicante is a vast province with many quaint towns and villages. Two of them are Albir and Altea. Ancient delights

There are some delightful ancient monuments at and around these quaint villages. Ancient lighthouses and towers can be sighted at Albir and Altea although some do not function as originally while others have been converted to new uses today.

These ancient structures were built to ward off pirate attacks as outposts in their heydays. Today, they are quaint reminders as an inspiration to artists, painters and sculptors who flock here.

The ancient monuments at these towns are well preserved to reflect the rich history and colorful culture with a steep tradition that is currently practiced by the locals.
